Development Associate

Laura Billings joined SRM Associates in 2003. As a development associate, her responsibilities include new business development, entitlements, development management and leasing.

Laura is a LEED™ Accredited Professional with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). She works with clients on their green building goals to improve the performance and health of commercial and residential spaces and to achieve LEED certification if desired.  Among her many responsibilities are the development of two LEED-certified green building projects in Berkeley, CA.

Prior to joining SRM Associates, Laura worked as a financial analyst for UBS PaineWebber in its Municipal Securities Group in housing finance. In this position she structured over $500 million of housing bonds for state and local housing finance agencies. Laura also worked in the field of community economic development for South Shore Bank, both in Chicago and overseas in the country of Georgia.

Laura received her M.B.A. from the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley in 2003 with a certificate in real estate and graduated with highest distinction from the University of Virginia in 1996 with a B.A. in political and social thought and urban planning. Laura co-founded the first local Emerging Green Builders committee within the USGBC (there are now over 40 nationwide) and served on the steering committee of the Northern California Chapter of the USGBC. Laura enjoys hiking, kayaking, cycling and yoga.
